Candle Safety Rules

To ensure you enjoy your candles safely, please follow these important guidelines:

1. Never Leave a Candle Unattended
   - Always extinguish candles when leaving the room or before going to sleep.
   - Make sure the flame is completely out and no longer glowing.

2. Keep Away from Flammable Items
   - Place candles at least 12 inches away from flammable materials such as curtains, furniture, bedding, or decorations.

3. Burn Candles in a Safe Area
   - Use a sturdy, heat-resistant surface or candle holder to prevent tipping or heat damage.
   - Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

4. Trim the Wick Regularly**
   - Before each use, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch to prevent uneven burning, excessive smoking, and flaring.

5. Keep Candles Free of Debris
   - Ensure the wax pool is free of matches, wick trimmings, and other debris to avoid flare-ups.

6. Burn for Appropriate Time
   - Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This helps prevent overheating and tunneling.
   - Let the candle cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.

7. Ventilate the Room
   - Burn candles in a well-ventilated room to avoid smoke build-up and potential respiratory issues.

8. Use Long Matches or Lighters
   - When lighting candles, use long matches or lighters to avoid burns, especially with deep jars or containers.

9. Avoid Drafts
   - Keep candles away from fans, open windows, or drafts to prevent uneven burning and excessive smoke.

10. Extinguish Properly
   - Use a snuffer or blow gently to extinguish the flame. Avoid splashing wax or using water to extinguish the candle, as this can cause splattering or breakage of the container.

By following these guidelines, you can safely enjoy the ambiance and warmth of candles while minimizing the risk of accidents. Always prioritize safety and never hesitate to extinguish a candle if you're unsure about its placement or burning conditions.
